What is Musical Bites?
Musical Bites is a game for children that makes eating meals fun and stress-free. Inspired by Musical Chairs, the game plays music through your phone and stops it at random intervals — prompting everyone at the table to take a bite. The first player to eat their bite wins that round!
The app guides the kids through chewing their food and getting ready for the next round. No more mealtime battles — just laughs, bites, and a clean plate.
How to Play
Pick your music
Open Musical Bites and choose a song or playlist from your phone's music library. Any music you love works — the app handles the rest.
Load your fork or spoon
Everyone at the table gets a bite of food ready on their fork or spoon and holds it up. Now you wait for the music to stop!
Music stops — take your bite!
The music pauses at a random moment. As soon as it stops, everyone takes their bite. The first player to eat wins that round.
Chew for 30 seconds
The app encourages good eating habits by prompting everyone to chew their bite for a full 30 seconds before swallowing. This helps with digestion and slows down eating — no rushing!
Get ready for the next round
After chewing, the app gives 10 seconds to load up another bite and get ready. If everyone is ready early, just tap Ready, Keep Playing to start the music again right away.

Tips for Parents
- Start with a song your child already loves — familiar music makes it easier to get excited.
- A small reward for the round winner (like picking the next song) keeps everyone motivated.
- The 30-second chew timer teaches healthy eating habits over time — great for all ages.
- If your child is ready before the 10-second get-ready timer runs out, they can tap Ready, Keep Playing to speed things along.
- Works great with 1 child and 1 parent, or with the whole family at the dinner table.
